President’s Message
Year 2024

Our family foundation now has 9 trustees representing three generations on the board. Just as the board has changed, so has its focus. We encourage our members to follow their passions, aligning their board work with what they feel is important.

For the granting year of 2023, 36 grants were given out, for a total of $188,155. Trustees evaluated needs in their respective communities and matched those needs with personal interest. Children, social justice, and the environment all had champions on the board. 19 of the 36 grants were brought to the board by trustees. The areas of grant-giving have also widened, based on where trustees now live.

Operationally we have made major changes as well. We no longer have an office, now solely using a PO Box (667. Grosse Ile, MI 48138) for an address. Not maintaining an office allows for more money to go directly into grants. As the founders begin planning to retire to the west side of Michigan, the Foundation points of contact will also change. While there are more needs than there are dollars, it is our hope to do what we can to make this world a better place.
